... about Bounty of the Barrens

About the Farmer's Market

The Bounty of the Barrens (BOTB) is a local, producer-only farmers market supported by Sustainable Glasgow. We offer a variety of produce, meats, eggs, cheeses, baked goods and other local food and handcrafted items from Barren and surrounding counties.

At the BOTB, you can meet local farmers & growers and learn how your food is produced. Buying local is a great way to build the local economy, buy healthy foods and connect with your neighbors.

Together, we are creating a community of educated consumers who understand the health, economic and environmental benefits of supporting local farms & producers.

Payment Information

Most vendors accept cash and checks. Many also accept WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers for produce. SNAP, credit and debit cards can be used at the BOTB Market Booth to purchase tokens which can be used at the market.

Market History

Our market began in 2008 as part of the Sustainable Glasgow movement. Our first summer, we had a handful of vendors selling produce, sausage, breads, canned goods, soaps and crafts.

Many expanded their farms and gardens, offering even more options for customers.

Today, we have over 25 vendors, offering some of the best local produce, meats, milk, breads & baked goods, cheeses, eggs and canned goods around. They also offer local handcrafted items such as soaps, crafts, apparel, art, jewelry and more.

Through our farmers market, we are creating a community of educated consumers who understand the health, economic and environmental benefits of supporting local farms and producers.
